Starve the Beast, Save your Soul
Hello chaos maker 🤘🏼
My intention in writing this post is so you better understand my decision as an online business owner. Maybe you’re familiar with my work on Instagram or maybe you’re not. Either way, since launching in 2018 so much has changed for content creation, monetization, and staying relevant. If you know, you know.
Feeding the social media beast has not felt great, for me. I’ve grown more frustrated and tired. Social media is a hungry fucker that’s never satisfied and doesn’t care whether I die in the process of giving it life.
While I love making content I don’t love burning out in the process. It’s not the vibe, at all! I recently took a month away from social media and I’m so glad I did because I feel better; grounded mentally and emotionally when it comes to working with you. My creative flow is sharper and my intention runs deeper in everything I’m doing. Not just online! In my everyday life I feel closer to my center than when I’m constantly logged in.
I know for a fact my work has positive impacts and I genuinely believe my projects housed here, on my website, creates a quieter, more intimate experience for us. I can feel in my body being here is the right decision for me. I don’t want to care about likes, views, and reels. Social media hijacks focus and demands we all play the game of the dopamine addicted feedback loop. Hard pass.
What you can expect here are posts that encourage, educate, and inspire you. It won’t be too different from what you’re used to, although some posts will be longer. Topics will consist of mental health support, spiritual insight, and personal shares. It’s also very possible that videos will be included…I feel that knowing creeping upward in my awareness but the details of the content have yet to take shape. You’ll be updated, don’t worry.
Until then take good care of yourself: hydrate, rest, laugh, sex it up, eat well and breathe deeply. I love you.
